Areas of Interest

We live in a privileged location, usually totalled understated! What I mean is simple! St Helens as a borough sits perfectly on the map to access some of the country’s finest commuter links , with ‘easy access’ to the M6 ,M60 ,M57 and M58  motorways, providing links to Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Preston and beyond.

We are only 80 miles from the country’s treasured National Park in Cumbria, just a 1.5 hour journey to England’s longest lake, Lake Windermere and within 30 minutes of the Cheshire countryside. All these places are relatively easy to get to!

Well regarded schools abound in the area. Just look at the ‘Ofsted’ reports on some of the junior schools in Rainford and Billinge; the Pre-School; facilities available and the choice of Senior Schools with high achievement records!

Local villages, such as Rainford and Billinge, provide some of the area’s finest countryside walks, property of interest and village community! These villages with their individual history include Ranford’s Clay Pipe Industry of yesteryear and nearby Towns like Prescot, with its Watch-Making History dating back to the 13th century, when Mariners referred to ‘Liverpool near Prescot!

St Helens townsfolk have a lot to be proud of in terms of achievement; from their mining heritage to their glass making prowess and long history of sporting achievements-not many town’s can boast ‘Best In The World’ on at least 2 counts !

Crank Gala saw the ‘The Best Dressed Scarecrow Competition’ in July 2010, held in the small local hamlets of Crank and Kings Moss. Above is a photograph taken by David Davies whilst out in Crank conducting a ‘Market Appraisal’ of a local property!

Back to present day, there are local Cricket Clubs; Football clubs for the local teenagers, Playgrounds and Parks for the Toddlers and well regarded Golf Courses, all on our doorstep!
